Class Structures

Long Sutton Primary School is organised into five classes:

• Hyde Class - Foundation Stage
• Chaffers Class - Year 1 and Year 2 children
• Kimbers Class - Year 2 and Year 3 children
• Saulgrove Class - Year 4 and Year 5 children
• Benhams Class - Year 5 and Year 6 children

Structuring our school in this way enables us to balance the social and academic mix of a class.  It enables the children to develop friendships amongst those of different ages and in different classes, and also ensures that every child is working in an environment that is best suited to them.

We tailor our curriculum to the children's needs, regardless of what class they are in.  We run a 2-year rolling programme to ensure that the full range of skills are taught but that children don't repeat content.

Throughout their time at Long Sutton, all children are given the same opportunities - our aim is that all children fulfill their potential and make the most possible progress.
