Our School GovernorsThe Governing Body seeks to actively promote high standards of education and care at Long Sutton School, it provides support to the Headteacher, her Senior Leadership Team and Staff and ensures all the school's statutory commitments are met. We operate with fifteen governors who are recruited from staff, parents, the local authority, the Diocese and the local community. Our business is organised through three sub-committees governing Curriculum, Personnel and Resources: The Curriculum Committee, chaired by Clare Rowe Jones is responsible for monitoring results, interpreting school data, and monitoring improvement measures in teaching and learning across both key stage groups. The Personnel Committee, chaired by Sue East is responsible for the many and varied documentation and procedures related to the employment of staff and for the wellbeing of children in school. The Resources Committee, chaired by Mark Faulkner is responsible for school financial planning and monitoring as well as for the school buildings and grounds. The Governing Body is tasked with providing a strategic view for the school rather than day-to-day management. In close collaboration with the Headteacher we ensure the three-year plan for the school is in place and that it addresses areas in need of improvement and further development. This plan contains a range of improvement objectives encompassing standards in curriculum areas, improvements to the school environment, adoption of programmes for learning, measures to enhance staff performance and plans to improve governor practice. For more information regarding the Governing Body or for information about becoming a governor please contact Mandy Wythe at the school office. Julia Burton Chair of Governors
