Behaviour
We value children as individuals but at the same time strive to develop their awareness of their place within the community. This gives them a sense of self worth, yet fosters a self-assurance that develops alongside a sense of responsibility to others.
Children at our school are expected to follow the Golden Rules of caring for each other and the environment and showing respect to adults and children. The school encourages good behaviour and hard work in a Celebration Assembly held once a week when children are presented with certificates. Staff continually recognise good behaviour and work by awarding house points. A STEP scheme is implemented throughout the school to encourage good manners (sorry, thank you, excuse me, please) and children consistently demonstrating good manners are awarded a STEP badge in assembly to be worn with their uniform each day. Additionally, we have a HEART OF THE COMMUNITY award to recognise those children who contribute to our chosen charity.
