Fire Safety Success!

We had three themes to our safety day: fire safety, road safety and house hazards. First up was the fire safety and we had two scenarios led by by the two Hampshire Fire Service crew, Nick and Dave. We saw that when you drop a match, within three minutes it will go from a tiny whisp of smoke to a giant blaze of flames. 

In the session about road safety, we learnt a special phrase that you should always learn when crossing the road:
"Stop, look and listen!"
We also learnt how important wearing a helmet is when riding your bike and we heard a story about how a lady's helmet saved her life!

Then it was on to learning about house hazards - we actually got to go on board the fire engine which was very exciting.  We had to spot all the possible dangers in a room for example, there were no batteries in the smoke alarm.

Overall it was a great success and we all learnt a lot!
